The Friday List

4.03.2014

Our regional food festival, Orange F.O.O.D Week begins today and we (Mandagery Creek Venison) are doing a fair few events over the 10-day period. Actually, between putting this post together I'm making a huge vat of venison osso buco for a lunch tomorrow, so I am sorry if this week's Friday List is another fairly brief one!

Also, here above and below are a few pictures from our brief visit last week to the incredible Emirates Wolgan Valley resort. Tim and I were invited to represent our venison at a producers' dinner and although we (reluctantly!) didn't stay the night, were pretty blown away by the setting, resort and food.

And finally, Local is Lovely is now officially launched and it's been a big week of celebrations, interviews and wrapping and sending off books (you can still order yours right here, or pick it up in book shops around Australia). I'll post some photographs from the Orange and Sydney book parties next week, but in the meantime, here's some reading for the weekend. Off I go back to the kitchen!

The Friday List

Favourite new blogs this week - The Broken Bread and Dagmar's Kitchen. Both so stunning, clever, inspiring and exciting. How incredible do these gluten free double chocolate brownies with salted fudge brownies sound?

This weekend I'd love to cook; Loaded sweet potato fries with tahini from What's Cooking Good Looking or this three bean chilli  from Smitten Kitchen or maybe a batch of these honey dill roasted beetroots from Chasing Delicious

Rosemary and chocolate hot cross buns definitely on my 'to-bake list' after F.O.O.D Week is over. And/or a batch of rosemary and strawberry muffins while we are on that tack...

  1. Hi Sophie, I received my copy of your lovely book this week and I wondered when you would next be in Sydney so that I can have you sign it?! Are you coming to the Northside Markets in North Sydney in a couple of weeks time?
